Scary, but true

Okay. So, I have a story. Prepared for an epic tale? Good.

A couple nights ago, Meagan and I invited our lovely friends, Sydney and Margie, over to watch a movie. Andres was also hanging out with us for a while, but then he had to start working on one of his final projects with his friend Jose Mario, so they were in his apartment, while us ladies were hanging out, just being cool, the regular. So, here begins the story. Our house sister, Diana, was going to hear a band play at a jazz cafe nearby, and she asked Jose Mario to take her there. He is a right dandy taxi driver. So a little while later, when they left to drop her off, Andres went with them. Now ... at this point, it is important to know some background information. Our Guatemalan house brother, Andres, is wonderful and we love him. But, he has this obsession with scaring us. We never know when or where it will happen, but sure enough, every single day, some kind of scaring attempt is made. So obviously, Meagan and I have wanted to retaliate for quite some time. And here, on this night, we had the perfect opportunity. Andres and Jose Mario were just dropping Diana off, so we knew that they would be back soon. Of course, my first thought was, hey guys! Lets scare the heck out of them when they get back!! SO, a debate began. Where should we hide? Do we all jump out at the same time or do we all hide separately and scare them at different intervals? Should we be inside the house or wait outside of his apartment? Then, it came to me. I suggested that we all hide outside near the gate, so that as soon as they started to walk up the driveway, BAM! We would be there to scare the heck out of them. So, Meagan donned her ninja headgear, and we walked outside. Sydney, Margie and I all huddled together in one rather dark opening in the trees, while Meagan found a very ninja like spot closer to the gate. And then, we waited. Our two dogs, Suva and Rayo, seemed like they would give us away at first, but they got bored with us just standing around in the shrubbery and went back to normal. And then, we saw headlights. Jose Mario, Andres, and another friend, Jozue, pulled up in Jose Mario's car outside the gate. We held back laughter as Andres opened the gate for them, and then quickly decided that as soon as they got to a certain point in the driveway, we would pounce. And sure enough, we all yelled as loud as we could and jumped out onto the driveway! The reactions were ones that I will never forget. Andres ducked down, turned around, and bolted. Jose Mario jumped back about five times and starting swearing in Spanish. And Jozue looked at us, frowned, and then continued walking. Okay, so maybe we didnt scare Jozue. But, it took Andres and Jose Mario quite a while to get over it. What an epic success!!!! Finally, Meagan and I, with the help of Margie and Sydney, won the scaring battle.

The only thing is... I know that they will try to get us back, and get us back goood. We will see. It will be pretty tough to top that.

Well that is the story. I hope you enjoyed it. We certainly did!! I seriously will never forget it.

Love,
